Charbel-Joseph H. Boutros was born during the Lebanese civil war. The political history of his home country and latent fears in contemporary society are never far away in his delicate and poetic oeuvre. The installations, sculptures and videos created by Boutros may appear simple, but they are always conceptually complex. These delicate, poetic and sometimes melancholic artworks draw our attention to the intervals in everyday life.
