Crèmerie GUILLAUME is a modern ice-cream parlour decorated with works of art by Guillaume Bijl. After visiting the exhibitions at the Municipal Museum of Contemporary Art (S.M.A.K.), you can enjoy a drink or an ice cream as well as Guillaume Bijl’s creations.

The ice creams come from one of Belgium’s oldest ice-cream parlours, Crèmerie François in Sint-Niklaas.

Guillaume Bijl’s series of artworks titled ‘Sorry’ can take on different forms. They are assemblages of objects or installations containing an absurd element. That’s what sets them apart from Bijl's realistic imagery and makes them surreal. A good example is the bizarre still life consisting of a bird’s nest with one red and two white billiard balls.
