Colourful façade

Eethuis De Fobie is housed in the former china shop Vanhoecke.

The colourful tiled façade was meant as an advertisement and dates back to the early 20th century,  when tile manufacturer Maison Helman Céramiques d’Art from Sint-Agatha-Berchem designed and created the figurative decoration in colourful enamel.

The building is now protected as a monument.

The façade tiles are currently being restored.
