The renovated Church of the Sacred Heart in Sint-Amandsberg, within walking distance of the Great Beguinage and Campo Santo, has been transformed into a meeting place and social restaurant. These days, you can go there for delicious, budget-friendly food in a magnificent setting. You are also welcome here for a cup of coffee or a nice chat with the neighbours.

Hartetroef is a project by DBSE, who set up the restaurant together with vzw Ateljee and other local organisations. You'll find the lunch menu of the day on the specials board. For your main course, you can choose between the dish of the day, a vegetarian dish, world cuisine, Flemish favourites and a hearty salad.

Extra bonus: in summer, you can also enjoy some treats on the terrace or get chatting to a local in the garden.

About DBSE

DBSE, the social workplace run by the City of Ghent and Public Centre for Social Welfare Ghent, offers opportunities to people who are finding their way on the job market. The employees at Hartetroef learn the trade while you enjoy an affordable meal, so it's a winner all round!
