“80 Days of Summer” displays surprising photographs series in a unique setting. It’s a combination of unusual exhibitions in dialogue with photography and history.

The theme of the exhibition is ‘Roots&Roads’. Where do we come from? Where are we going? Everyone is trying to find their way. But do we ever get anywhere? The migrant fleeing and seeking asylum, the tourist on the way to an unknown destination, the journalist on a mission to discover the true story, the explorer on an expedition into unchartered territory, the nomad searching for fertile ground, the photographer looking for isolation and confrontation with nature...all digging for a reason to exist. Everyone is trying to find their way...some out of necessity and some out of choice.

The photographers’ gazes will draw everyone in. They open a window and take their viewers with them into a story they weren’t involved with until now. A journey around the world in 80 days.

There are also film projects, lectures, workshops, masterclasses, meetings with photographers, interviews and signing sessions on the programme. St. Peter’s Abbey forms the vibrant heart of the festival.
