Two new Ghent chefs awarded Michelin star21 Nov 2017
Winter is the ideal season for leisurely dining. And according to Michelin, Ghent is the place to be... On 20 November, three Ghent restaurants stood out when the Michelin stars were awarded. Newcomers Chambre Séparée by Kobe Desramaults and OAK by chef Marcelo Ballardin were immediately awarded one star. Restaurant Vrijmoed by top chef Michael Vrijmoed was awarded a second star. Publiek, Jan Van den Bon and Horseele kept their stars.
As a chef, Kobe Desramaults is among the best in the world. He left his Michelin-starred restaurant In De Wulf in Dranouter last year and started his latest gastronomic project in Ghent this year. Chambre Séparée can accommodate a maximum of 16 people, surrounding the kitchen in the industrial setting of the former Belgacom tower. Guests can enjoy a top culinary experience with 20 courses for 200 euros.
As a newcomer, this year Chambre Séparée also achieved a top score of 17.5 out of 20 in the Gault&Millau restaurant guide.
