Thang Tran Tung (1981) - in short Thang - is a sounding DJ name in Ghent and daddy of Ro (2011). From 1998 to eternity: it was exactly 20 years ago that Thang took his first steps behind the mixing decks and in the meantime he has become an integral part of Ghent's nightlife. Together with Fredo he played b2b in Club 69 and as regulars in the Culture Club. What's more? Thang is also co-host of several parties at the legendary Kompass Klub and one of the founders of ABSTRKT.

Numero uno for coffee: Clouds in my Coffee at Ghent-Dampoort. They also have a nice terrace at the back! Walk through the eclectic Dampoortstraat and enjoy the view of Portus Ganda. Nearby you will also find the Van Eyck swimming pool for a splash in art deco vibes. Fun fact: Van Eyck is the oldest swimming pool in Belgium! For an après-swim, just follow the Veerkaai and you'll end up at the Oude Beestenmarkt, with lots of cosy cafés and a -what's in a name- animal market on Sunday mornings.
We'll have a picnic at the Lousbergmarkt, a covered fresh market at the Lousbergkaai. Eat your snacks on a bench at the Rommelwaterpark, where kids can romp around or head to the nearby Astridpark. Off we go via the Brabantdam -small pit stop at the DJ school- to the city library De Krook. A few minutes further on you'll find Rewind store, the spot for designer fashion for men. Another favo fashion spot, but then for the littlest tastemakers: Mister Jones & Miss Katie.
At four o'clock, we make an obligatory stop at Gérard Cremerie or lose ourselves like a kid in a, well, candy store called Temmerman. Not tired yet? Then dare to embark on a new water adventure together with Kajaks Korenlei! Fun times guaranteed! Afsluiten doen we met een afhaalmaaltijd van Lokaal 13, een gloednieuwe dark kitchen die ik mee heb opgericht! Fun times guaranteed! Finish off with a takeaway dinner from Lokaal 13, a brand new dark kitchen that I co-founded. What's on the menu? Springrolls, delicious chicken dishes & paella! Vamos!
