Pop art appeals to everyone's imagination. Artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Panamarenko belong to contemporary world heritage. With a well-balanced selection of works from American and European pop art, S.M.A.K. sheds light on an art movement that is more topical than ever.

Some 40 masterpieces guide the visitor through a key period in post-war art history.  The exhibition unites works from the Matthys-Colle private collection, which S.M.A.K. recently received on long-term loan, and the S.M.A.K. museum collection.

It includes works by Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Tom Wesselmann, Panamarenko, Martial Raysse, Christo, Jean Tinguely, Marcel Broodthaers, Konrad Klapheck, Yves Klein, Claes Oldenburg, Arman and Gerhard Richter.
