In this exhibition, the S.M.A.K. is showing a selection of the acquisitions made in the past few years. Despite its limited budget, the museum has succeeded in acquiring some remarkable works. It has also benefited from quite a few donations.

The exhibition’s title comes from a film by Nashashibi/Skaer, a collective artistic project by artists Rosalind Nashashibi and Lucy Skaer from 2017. The film premiered at documenta 14 and is currently part of the S.M.A.K. collection.
“Why Are You Angry?” is also a question that visitors are invited to answer for themselves. The works of art displayed in this exhibition can be conductors for the formulation of a possible answer.

The exhibition brings together works by Nashashibi/Skaer, Sofia Hultén, Jacqueline Mesmaeker and Sine Van Menxel.
