P+R car parks

The Ghent city centre (the area enclosed by the ring road) has been designated as a low emission zone (LEZ) with the purpose of improving the quality of the air.
The P+R car parks below are outside the LEZ and are therefore a perfect alternative if your car is no longer allowed to enter the city center.
At the Watersportbaan on Zuiderlaan there are 100 to 150 parking spaces available, as well as extra bike parking facilities. Buses 38 and 39 (get on at the 'Topsporthal Vlaanderen' stop) take you to the centre, and buses 41 and 43 go to Gent-Sint-Pieters railway station.
A free shuttle bus takes you from the P+R facilities of Watersportbaan to the city centre, where the bus stops at Koophandelsplein, in less than 20 minutes. The shuttle bus is usually not available on Sundays or holidays, except in the case of Sunday shopping or certain other events.
Note: P+R Watersportbaan cannot be used from Friday 24 March to Monday 27 March. This also means there will be no shuttle service during this period.
