Every Friday, you can buy fresh food at Vrijdagmarkt square. You’ll find, among other things, bread, fish, Italian delicacies, dairy products, fruits and vegetables. You can also buy new merchandise at various stalls.
On Saturdays, the stall keepers only sell new products.

About this square…
Vrijdagmarkt square has a rich history. Sovereigns were solemnly received during Joyous Entries, but executions also took place there. In the middle, Jacob van Artevelde watches over the square. You can find cosy cafés, restaurants and shops around the square.
