De Windstoot (The Gust of Wind) is a new Art Expedition by the non-profit organisation Wit.h. The title refers to a work by Léon Spilliaert representing a young girl at the sea’s edge. There is a strong wind, she is hanging on to the railing of the quay and is screaming her lungs out but still, the silence is deafening. Equality, having power and feeling powerless, giving people a voice in general and artists in particular: that’s what De Windstoot is about.

The non-profit organization Wit.h collaborated with international selected artists who created new works in small collectives. They drew inspiration from the theme of Het Narrenschip (Ship of Fools) and the social topic of power versus powerlessness.

Museum Dr. Guislain displays the final results in a museum context and in connection with our own collection.
