Jazz is alive and kicking in Ghent. Every year, the city welcomes the top of the jazz scene to the summer festivals Gent Jazz and Jazz in ’t Park. In the welcoming clubs and cafés, you can enjoy intimate or experimental performances all year round. International artists and emerging local talents are given a chance to shine here.
The musical city of Ghent certainly lives up to its title of ‘Creative City of Music’. Time after time, concerts of any genre attract large audiences. Young musicians will find fertile ground here. Music fanatics can discover new sounds in Ghent's nightlife.
Jazz lovers are sure to find much to their liking in Ghent. Every season, the Bijloke Music Centre schedules over 100 concerts featuring classical, modern and jazz music.
Live performances in a convivial setting
The prestigious Gent Jazz Festival takes place in the gardens of De Bijloke every year. The programme features nationally and internationally renowned artists. The festival forms part of the International Jazz Festival Organisation. To end the summer in style, Ghent will host Jazz in the Park in August. This free festival will introduce a wide audience to the delights of contemporary Belgian jazz.
Jazz cafés
