Arts and crafts market

You can visit the crafts market on Saturdays and Sundays. The arts market takes place on Sundays. During the Ghent Festivities in July, the crafts market is replaced by the arts market “Gents openluchtatelier” (Ghent open air studio) at the same location.

The pump in the middle of Groentenmarkt square was installed in the 19th century for the vegetables merchants selling their goods on the square. That's where the square got its name. Nowadays, it’s the place to be for foodies.
