Design Fest Gent, a new biennial festival, offers designers space to share their ideas with a broad audience. The main location is the Design Museum Ghent. You can also visit the Museum of Industry, DADA Chapel Distillery and various Ghent galleries.
Design Fest Gent stimulates creativity and is a matchmaker for new collaborations between designers, knowledge institutions, organisations and industry. The festival doesn’t just show and present, but also focuses on experience, meeting, stimulation and amazement.
The festival consists of three parts. “Look Back” is centred around projects in which craft, tradition and new technology come together. “Move Forward” focuses on hybrid collaborations between science, design and technology, with nature as its blueprint. “Do Care” shows designs with a social impact.
The festival takes over the entire Design Museum Ghent. Every floor of the museum is dedicated to a certain topic (Mining, Growing and Flowing).

Are you driving to Ghent? First check whether you may enter the city centre with your vehicle. Clean vehicles may enter the city centre free of charge, polluting vehicles have to pay. Is your vehicle allowed to enter, but do you not have a Belgian or Dutch number plate? You will ALWAYS have to register!
