Make sure you’re at the rendezvous at midnight! There will be at least three kisses waiting for you, for a very special New Year! Fireworks and butterflies guaranteed!
The city is pushing for quieter and more animal-friendly fireworks. Smaller firework arrows, less gunpowder and shooting the arrows at a lower height will reduce noise pollution.
You are welcome from 11pm on the Voorhoutkaai to first enjoy atmospheric images and mood music. At the stroke of midnight, the fireworks will go off (softly) and you can ring in the New Year!

Are you driving to Ghent? First check whether you may enter the city centre with your vehicle. Clean vehicles may enter the city centre free of charge, polluting vehicles have to pay. Is your vehicle allowed to enter, but do you not have a Belgian or Dutch number plate? You will ALWAYS have to register!
