As the only city in Flanders with a design museum, the expectations that Ghent has to live up to as a home of design are high. With its huge collection (25,000 pieces, some 450 of which are on display), the Design Museum provides an overview of Belgian design in an international context.
In Ghent, a love of design is in the water. Take the well-known designers Maarten van Severen and Henry van de Velde for example, as well as the young talent that bursts onto the scene from inside the walls of KASK and LUCA every year.
