Flanders' Finest Cycle Routes offers a selection of 25 themed cycling routes across Flanders. You don’t need to be an avid cyclist to explore these routes. Grab your bike, a water bottle and a good mood and set off to discover the beautiful nature around Ghent and beyond.
There are three cycling routes in Ghent that are part of Flanders' Finest Cycle Routes. If you opt for the Lys Region Route, you’ll follow the meandering river Lys along picturesque villages, convivial outdoor cafés and quiet fields. The Cycling Past Castles Route takes you in the direction of the Scheldeland region and allows you to discover majestic castles, castle parks and the nature reserve Kalkense Meersen. Or you can choose the Gentse Fietsen Route, which will take you along 15 insider tips from three Ghentians.
Tip! Collect your special nodes strip* for free at the tourist office or at one of the Fietsambassade bike points. This way, you can easily follow the route and get the most out of your trip.
