The eastern part of the city is where you can find East District, the commercial area around Henegouwenstraat, Bennesteeg, Mageleinstraat and Voldersstraat. Belgian fashions for all ages but also a nice selection of delicatessens and sweet shops.

This shopping district features attractive streets close to St Nicolas’ church with fashion for everyone. Bennesteeg surprises you with a mix of original boutiques and catering businesses. The shops in Henegouwenstraat, a continuation of Voldersstraat, specialise in different kinds of luxury goods, such as lingerie, vintage and new couture, and men’s fashion.

East District also caters to your culinary wishes with its countless food stores, restaurants, pubs and coffee bars. There are outdoor cafés on Sint-Baafsplein Square right below the impressive St-Bavo’s Cathedral and the Belfry.  The modern city pavilion is situated on the other side of the Belfry.
