There is nothing more fun than a city break in winter: waking up in a cosy coffee shop, wrapping up in a coat to explore the city and warming up in a museum. In Ghent, you can end a winter day in an extra atmospheric way with the award-winning light plan walk.

Strolling from one museum to another is a great idea on a cold winter’s day. You can discover the newest exhibitions and get to know all of Ghent’s nooks and crannies. A mapped-out walk will guide you from the city centre to the Arts Quarter, where museum gems such as S.M.A.K. (Municipal Museum of Contemporary Art) and MSK (Museum of Fine Arts) are located. The CityCard Gent gives access to all the city’s museums and public transport for two or three days. Good to know: every first Thursday of the month, Ghent museums are open until ten pm. And during Museum Night, on the first Thursday of December, all museums are accessible free of charge until midnight. Highly recommended!
