Everyone longs for a bite to eat or a drink on a terrace, we have been missing this for far too long. Fortunately, even with a drop of rain, many establishments in Ghent provide a covered terrace. The list below lists a few nice addresses where you can enjoy the beautiful view of Ghent, together with a coffee, aperitif or delicious meal.

With a little help of a parasol, tent or awning, you can take place at the following spots even when it's raining. Check out the rules and treat yourself safely to something tasty!

Please note: some locations only work with reservation. So contact the owners to be sure of a place!

The rules

There are, of course, some rules associated with this activity, but they are not difficult to follow:

  • You may sit with four at a table unless your household is bigger

  • The terraces are open between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m.

  • Face masks are obligatory when moving around, but once you are seated, they can be taken off

  • You simply plop down on a chair and drinks will be served at the table (no hassle waiting at the bar)

  • You can only go inside to use the toilet or to pay

  • Respect a minimum distance of 1,5m

  • No compulsory registration

  • No compulsory reservation (but sometimes it is recommended)

And then all you have to do is enjoy the view, the company and the delicacies served to you!
