Tip: combine with a visit to the Museum of Fine Arts (MSK) and follow the restoration of the upper register of the retable’s interior panels live. From Tuesdays to Fridays, you can see the restorers live at work in their workshop. Moreover, on weekends and holidays, the panels are set up in such a way that they are visible to the public.

Families with children can go on a family tour of the visitors’ centre. This audio tour is available in Dutch, French and English and is suitable for children aged 6 and over. This is a playful way to learn more about the Ghent Altarpiece and its history.

CityCard holders can enjoy a considerable discount by selecting the ‘CityCard' option when purchasing a ticket. You can even do this before you have actually bought your CityCard. This way, you are sure you have a ticket. When you get to the entrance, have both your ticket and CityCard scanned.
