Belgium is about as famous for its waffles as for its chips. Waffles are usually associated with Brussels or Liège, but Ghent is also a waffle city. The city owes that reputation to Marc Sleen, the creator of Nero and thus of the iconic waffle feast at the end of each comic. His tombstone even includes a sculpted table with waffles and a cup of coffee. You can have your waffle on the go or in a cosy establishment with a nice hot drink.
