With an ever longer list of sustainable festivities, Ghent has proven that an event does not have to end in cleaning up streets and squares littered with plastic cups.
Sustainable in every way
The City of Ghent has consciously opted for waste-free festivities and has banned disposable cups. Reusable cups have therefore become standard and can be borrowed from the municipal waste department. In addition, event organisers have to submit a detailed waste management plan to the city authorities. A sustainable event is also an accessible event, which is supervised by an accessibility officer.
