Did you know that Ghent has been awarded the title of “veggie capital of Europe” because the city has more vegetarian restaurants compared to metropolises like Paris or London?  “Thursday veggie day” is a campaign that has its roots in Ghent and has now widely spread.  Ghent is the perfect city to come to if you want to eat meat- or fish-free but still want a delicious meal.  Pick one of the veggie or vegan hotspots, or a veggie dish in an “ordinary” restaurant.
