A weekend away with the whole family, an outing with your club or an unforgettable trip with friends? Ghent is the perfect place for a pleasant stay as a group! Discover restaurants, hotels and attractions ready to receive your group with open arms.

Group accommodations

Spending just one day in Ghent is not enough: there is so much to see that staying the night should be mandatory. Even if you are visiting the city with a group of friends or family, you will easily find an accommodation for everyone. Many hotels host groups, and if you would like to save some money, you can also stay the night in a (youth) hostel

Feeding the hungry

Group restaurants

A city break in group is great, but it can also be a challenge, especially when it’s time to eat. It isn’t always easy to find somewhere to eat for more than four people without making reservations. Doing your research and booking a table in advance might therefore be convenient, even in Ghent. Fortunately, plenty of chefs in the city don’t mind cooking for (larger) groups of visitors.

Entertaining a group

If you’re travelling in group, you have to take everyone’s wishes into account. Fortunately, this is easy in Ghent, which offers an impressive range of activities. Some of them are even more fun in group. From pure relaxation to inquisitive discoveries and unadulterated action, pick your favourites.

Be guided

Do you know what you need when travelling in group? A guide to keep your gang in check! Just kidding, of course, but it can be fun to have a guide to show you the city. This can be done in many ways: with a focus on history or delicacies or a tour aimed at children. The guides in Ghent know that tours should be personalised.

Are you planning a visit to Ghent with your class group? Then you are probably looking for activities that are not only fun, but also educational. We recommend visiting one of the most influential paintings in art history, or a museum about daily life from the 20th century onwards. Via ‘BOEKjeBEZOEK’, you can plan a guided tour. A guided boat trip is also a great learning opportunity. Be sure to ask about specific rates for class groups.

Reaching Ghent easily

Ghent can be easily reached in group by train. From both of Ghent’s railway stations (Gent-Sint-Pieters and Gent-Dampoort), there is a fun walking route to the city centre. This is an exciting start to your visit. Are you coming by coach? Take the Hop-on Hop-off water tram leaving from the Kiss & Ride zone on Godshuizenlaan. The captain will tell you some fun facts about Ghent. The water taxi does require a reservation for groups.
